You’re Accepted in The Beloved

Daily Devotional: Day 17

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Ephesians 1:6, KJV).

Knowing that you’re accepted in Christ changes your understanding and experience of the Father’s love. You don’t have to earn your place in the Father’s heart. In Christ, God has already accepted you and surrounded you with favor, grace, glory and honor. The passage from Ephesians 1:6 says God has accepted you in the beloved. The beloved is Jesus Christ. This means that God sees you in Christ – inside Christ. And he loves you with the same affection and unconditional love he has for Christ. Think about this: God cannot love you any less than he loves Jesus, because you’re in Christ. The Greek verb translated “hath made us accepted” is charitoo. In the New Testament, this Greek verb is used only one other time, when the angel Gabriel spoke to Mary (Luke 1:28). The word means to be freely endowed with favor, honor and blessings. Therefore, when the Bible says you’re accepted in the beloved, God wants you to know that you’re special in his eyes – just like Jesus. The same divine favor that is upon Jesus, is upon you, too. Hallelujah!

The Father is in love with you and has made you worthy through the blood of his Son. You no longer must feel unworthy in the Father’s presence. Stop calling yourself an unworthy sinner. You think you’re being humble, but the truth is, you’re operating in ignorance of your place in the Father’s heart. Don’t call yourself anything that suggests that you’re not accepted. God accepts you not because you’re good, but because he is good. The blood of Jesus has put your unworthy days behind you. Believe what God says about you.

Confess:

Daddy, your Word says that you’ve accepted me in Christ. I acknowledge, I believe, and I confess that I stand forever accepted in Christ. I’m greatly beloved and I praise you for what you’ve done in Christ. Amen!
