UNDERSTANDING THE LAW OF USE

Success at all levels is governed by spiritual laws. The right understanding and application of spiritual laws will guarantee success. Today, I want to talk to you about one such law: The Law of Use.

The Law of Use can be stated as follows: The more a thing is used and enjoyed, the more abundantly there is to be used and enjoyed. The converse is true: The less a thing is used and enjoyed, the less of it there is to be used and enjoyed.

The Law of Use operates under a two-fold principle. Therefore, to have more and enjoy more, you must practice the following:

First, use what you already have. This includes everything you own, from your cellphone to the shoes you bought for Christmas. Use it often. Act like there’s always more for you to use. The more you use something, you’re showing appreciation for it. And, what you appreciate tends to appreciate. Not only that, what you appreciate will appreciate you.

As an example, if you have 20 pairs of shoes, wear them often. If you must wear a different pair of shoes every day, so be it. It’s nobody’s business. The things in your life are there to serve you. Let them feel your presence often. Let them feel the presence of their master. If you have something you hardly use, let others have it. The key is to keep things in motion. The Law of Use demands that the things in our possession are put to use.

If you hold on to things without necessarily using them, you’ll inevitably create an energy of stagnation around you. You don’t want that.

Second, enjoy what you use. Feel truly happy when you use anything. When you drive your car, feel joyful about it. When you wear your shoes, feel the joy it brings you. When you buy something for yourself or another, feel the joy of purchasing power. Act like you always have enough money, and that the price of an item doesn’t scare or bother you.

Don’t be indifferent. If you’re indifferent to the things in your life, those things will be indifferent to you. The key is to feel joyful about anything you use to make your life meaningful. It’s the reason the Scripture says, “God loves a cheerful [joyful] giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). The joy of giving is as important as the act of giving. Likewise, the joy of using something is as important as using the thing.

Remember, the Law of Use is what activates the Law of Abundance. This principle is illustrated in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30). The key lesson in the parable is summed up as follows: “to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away” (v. 29).

Abundant living is more about attitude than the amount in your bank account. An attitude of abundance is what channels the flow of abundance. To those who say, “God knows I don’t have much,” I say, please don’t put words in God’s mouth. God knows you more than you know yourself. He knows you’re rich, because He made you so, in His exact likeness. You’re rich; you just haven’t accepted yet that you’re rich.

To experience abundance, you must express abundance.

Apply the Law of Use in your life today. Use more and enjoy more of what you already have.

Love & Light
